Overview
EDCC-2012 is inviting proposals for one-day and half-day high-quality workshops in the area of dependability. Proposals may be on any topic related to dependability, with a particular interest in emerging areas, for instance, but not limited to, those related to the conference theme: “From small to large: from Embedded System to Cloud Computing Dependability”.
EDCC Workshops will take place one day before the main conference in Sibiu, Romania, on May 8th, 2012.
Workshop proposals (not exceeding three pages, 11pt) should include the following information:
* The title of the workshop
* A technical description of the workshop topic area
* A short description of the intended length and format of the workshop
* A brief statement of the relevance of the workshop to EDCC
* A short description of previous editions of the workshop, if they existed
* The names and e-mail addresses of the organizing committee
* A list of proposed program committee members
Accepted workshops will organize their own publicity, submissions and peer-review procedures. They should provide their own web page, which will be linked from the EDCC 2012 web site. Workshop organizers are responsible to prepare the papers for their workshops in the form required. The EDCC organization team will provide companion proceedings covering all workshops and we plan to make all workshop papers available in IEEE Xplore or the ACM Digital Library (to be defined).
Conference background
EDCC is the leading European conference for presenting and discussing the latest research in dependable computing. As in previous years, its ninth edition aims at providing a European-hosted venue for researchers and practitioners from all over the world to present and discuss their latest research results on dependability, security, fault-tolerance, and testing. Topics include theory, techniques, systems, and tools for the design, validation, operation and evaluation of dependable and secure computing systems, covering any fault model, from traditional hardware and software faults to accidental and malicious human interactions.
